“The most important thing to me today is MMA” - Victoria Souza focuses on MMA while planning for life after fighting
Brazilian star Victoria Souza is focused on what matters the most in his life while she's planning for her future, and that is a career in mixed martial arts.
Although she is known as an MMA fighter, the Ataque Duplo/Chute Boxe Floripa afiliate has also been pursuing a degree in dentistry, and she is enjoying her journey.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, 'Vick' shared that she would not let anything stand in her way of her martial arts dream.
Souza told ONE that after a massive victory over Itsuki Hirata last time out, she is fully committed to combat despite having enrolled in her studies.
Souza said:
“The most important thing to me today is MMA. I am studying dentistry at college, and I will practice the profession in the future when I retire from MMA.”
Next, Victoria Souza will face another formidable foe in Alyse Anderson at ONE 168: Denver on September 6, live in U.S. primetime.
Victoria Souza aiming for back-to-back victories at ONE 168: Denver
In a couple of weeks, Victoria Souza is going to clash with American star Alyse Anderson and aiming for a consecutive victory for the first time since her debut three years ago.
This past June, 'Vick' nabbed the victory from the hands of Japanese superstar Itsuki Hirata via first-round submission. Overall, it was her second win in four bouts to date with ONE.
It is no surprise that Souza wants to use that momentum to aim for the second straight win and reinforce her threats on the top five fighters in the atomweight division.
But, she is facing a strong opponent in Anderson.
The American MMA star wants to bounce back in front of her home crowd after suffering a loss in the hands of Thai superstar and ONE atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex in May last year, when ONE debuted in U.S. soil.
Tickets for ONE 168 are still available via Ticketmaster.
