'The Lord of the Rings' fan Shavkat Rakhmonov picks his dream 'Fellowship' to fight alongside him in battle
UFC welterweight contender Shavkat Rakhmonov has revealed which 'Fellowship' member from 'The Lord of the Rings' he'd choose to go into battle with.
Rakhmonov is currently preparing for the biggest fight of his career, as he is set to face Ian Garry at UFC 310 this weekend. 'Nomad' was originally scheduled to face Belal Muhammad for the welterweight title, however, 'Remember the Name' was forced out of the fight through injury.
Whilst many would have understood if Rakhmonov had decided to wait until Muhammad was cleared to fight, he instead accepted the short-notice contest against Garry, with both men now putting their undefeated records on the line to become the No.1 contender.
Ahead of their highly anticipated contest this Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Shavkat Rakhmonov took part in an interview with CBS Sports' Shakiel Mahjouri.
During their chat, Mahjouri asked Rakhmonov about the 'Lord of the Rings', as the welterweight contender is a self-proclaimed super fan of both the books and the films. He was asked if he was ever heading into a battle against the orcs, which member of the 'Fellowship' he'd want by his side. Rakhmonov said:
"Yes, I love it [Lord of the Rings]. [When asked about going into battle] Definitely Aragorn or Legolas. For sure."

Israel Adesanya predicts Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. Ian Garry
Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has offered his thoughts on Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. Ian Garry and gave his prediction for the fight.
Adesanya discussed the fight on his YouTube channel and shared his analysis of how he thinks the fight will play out. According to 'The Last Stylebender', whilst he rates both men highly, he believes Garry will get the win via unanimous decision by utilizing his striking from range. He explained:
"I've grappled with him [Garry], he's good grappler...his striking as well, his distance, his awareness, his in-and-out footwork, that's where he's going to have an advantage...I think he's going to be able to touch Shavkat Rakhmonov...he's going to be careful, use that jab, use the teep to keep Shavkat away.
"And Shavkat, I think he just don't bite on the fence. If he wants to try and go after Ian, I think Ian's going to have the advantage striking...I'll go with Ian Garry. I think it's gonna go decision...I'm going to put my money on Ian."
