“The most memorable fight I’ve had” - Jonathan Haggerty counts Nong-O showdown as his best performance yet
Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom has had countless epic wars inside the ONE Championship ring.
The 27-year-old Team Underground representative has proven to be one of the most exciting performers in the world's largest martial arts organization, and he has thrilled audiences with his lightning speed and thunderous power.
When asked what he thinks his most impressive performance has been in ONE, Haggerty, however, always talks about one fight in particular -- his world-title winning effort against legendary Thai fighter Nong-O Hama.
'The General' said on his official YouTube channel:
"This is probably the most memorable fight I've had. Jonathan Haggerty versus Nong-O. ONE Fight Night 9. I don't go into any fight not confident I could win. Every fight that I go in, I know I could win. So, yeah, I remember, when they did give us the fight, I told my dad about it, and I don't think my dad was too keen on me accepting the fight. His exact words were, he's a bigger version of Rodtang. But then my comeback was, I'm a bigger version, a stronger version of Jonathan Haggerty. That was my point."

Haggerty defeated Nong-O in April 2023 when no one thought he would win. He ended up knocking out the Thai legend to capture the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title.
