“Then I look at guys right in their prime” - Liam Harrison came to painful realization he could no longer keep up with the current gen

British Muay Thai legend and recently retired ONE Championship athlete 'Hitman' Liam Harrison of the United Kingdom says he can still fight his heart out, despite being old and 39 years of age, with not the same iron chin he once had when he was younger.

But a strong mind and a fearless heart, the fierce Englishman says, is not enough to keep up with the young guns in ONE Championship.

ONE Championship's Muay Thai divisions are teeming with boundless talent, including fellow bantamweight 'King of the North' Nico Carrillo and two-sport, two-division king Superlek Kiatmoo9.

Harrison thought of himself going up against these guys and knew he didn't have what it took anymore.

'Hitman' told the media at the ONE 168: Denver press conference last weekend:

"I’m 39, and then I look at guys right in their prime like Nico Carrillo and Superlek, and I don’t know [if I could] fucking beat those guys now, do you know what I mean?"

Harrison returned to action in the Circle at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado's famed Ball Arena. 'Hitman' was coming off a two-year absence due to injury.

However, he was stopped by none other than Muay Thai icon 'The Man Who Yields To No One' Seksan Or Kwanmuang in the second round. Harrison made the painful decision to retire from competition shortly after.

Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action of ONE 168: Denver via replay on demand on Amazon Prime Video.

Liam Harrison shocked by Seksan's durability: "He’s a terminator, that guy"

'Hitman' Liam Harrison knew 'The Man Who Yields To No One' Seksan Or Kwanmuang was a tough guy heading into their highly anticipated showdown at ONE 168: Denver last weekend.

But he didn't quite expect Seksan to be nearly indestructible. He told the media:

"Honestly, his body needs to be f**king donated to science. He’s a terminator, that guy. Honestly."
