“There's a lot of heavy hitters” - Jackie Buntan raves about the ‘crazy’ line-up of stacked ONE 169 spectacle
Jackie Buntan can't wait to take in all the action at ONE 169.
Emanating from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, ONE Championship will present one of its most stacked lineups of the year at ONE 169 features three epic world title tilts—including a highly anticipated showdown between Buntan and seven-time world champion Anissa Meksen.
Buntan and Meksen will battle it out for the ONE strawweight kickboxing world championship.
Looking ahead to Friday night's massive card inside the Mecca of Muay Thai, Buntan shared her excitement to be part of such a stellar event, telling the promotion:
“It’s gonna be a crazy card. I don't think I've ever seen a ONE card with more than two title fights. There's a lot of heavy hitters in the MMA world."
Jackie Buntan vs. Anissa Meksen will be a first-ever meeting between the two combat sports stars, but there will be rematches aplenty at ONE 169, including a massive ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship showdown in the evening's co-main event.
Three world title fights punctuate a loaded ONE 169 card in Bangkok
After Buntan and Meksen take care of their business in the ring, ONE flyweight Muay Thai titleholder Rodtang Jitmuangnon will step into the spotlight set to make his first title defense of 2024 when he runs back his ONE 157 clash with British star Jacob Smith.
Smith was absolutely brutalized throughout their three-round affair in May 2022, but the Brit believes things will be much different the second time around.
Another rematch on the night will see former eight-time flyweight MMA champion Adriano Moraes take on Danny Kingad in a bout that could establish the next man in line for a shot at the division's top prize.
Moraes defeated 'The King' via first-round submission at ONE: Legends of the World all the way back in November 2017.
Rounding out Friday's title fights is perhaps the biggest heavyweight clash in ONE history. Reigning three-division titleholder Anatoly Malykhin returns to defend his ONE heavyweight MMA world championship against Senegalese sensation Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane.
Kane earned the opportunity to face Malykhin after delivering a dominant performance against 17-time BJJ world champion Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida at ONE Fight Night 13 last year.
Which title fight are you most looking forward to when ONE Championship heads back to The Land of Smiles?
Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE 169: Malykhin vs. ‘Reug Reug’ live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, November 8 in U.S. primetime.
