"These guys are a different breed" - Liam Harrison on what separates Jonathan Haggerty,  Nico Carrillo from the rest of the pack

Liam Harrison has been around the game for so long that he can spot elite talents from a mile away. The 38-year-old veteran has always given massive praise to his fellow European strikers Jonathan Haggerty and Nico Carrillo, whom he considers the alpha dogs in the 145-pound Muay Thai ranks.

While the two-sport world champion and the No.1-ranked contender are certified finishers, it's their understanding of the intricacies of the fight game that separates them from the pack.

'Hitman' explained during an interview on The FullerWatt Podcast:

"I mean look at Nico Carrillo, he's an absolute unit. That's because he does it all scientifically right. He does crazy conditioning, he's got a great strength and conditioning coach. He also uses a good nutritionist."

Liam Harrison continued:

"Even Haggerty and people like that, you see the shape we're in now. These guys are a different breed of fighters to what was there when I was first coming up."

Despite sporting a massive frame that often dwarfs his bantamweight counterparts, Carrillo has never missed weight and hydration in the home of martial arts. 'King of The North' also possesses an endless gas tank, allowing him to deliver his killer blows with ease.

Haggerty, on the other hand, took a scientific approach when he also bulked up to bantamweight after starting his career at flyweight. The results speak for themselves, as 'The General' packs more power at 145 pounds without sacrificing his speed and agility.
