“This camp is totally different for me” - Mohamed Younes Rabah already feeling the benefits of featherweight move in training

Mohamed Younes Rabah is feeling pretty good ahead of his featherweight debut in ONE Championship.

After competing as a bantamweight in his first two promotional appearances, 'The Eagle' will move up a weight class when he meets American standout Eddie Abasolo at ONE 169 on Friday, Nov. 8, inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

After splitting his first two appearances in back-to-back bouts against Thai legend Saemapetch Fairtex, Mohamed Younes Rabah knew he would benefit from moving up and mitigating a stressful weight cut. Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Rabah said:

“This camp is totally different for me. In my last fight, all my focus was on making weight. I was stressed and scared that I wouldn’t make weight."

Overall, Younes Rabah is 14-1 in his career, his long loss coming against Saemapetch at ONE Fight Night 19 in February.

Determined to bounce back, 'The Eagle' will face a tough test when he meets a man equally determined to climb back into the win column following some recent setbacks.

Mohamed Younes Rabah meets another fighter desperate for a win at ONE 169

Mohamed Younes Rabah's opponent at ONE 169, Eddie Abasolo, will be seeking his second win under the ONE Championship banner after starting his run with a 1-3 record.

After coming up short in his promotional debut against Liam Nolan at ONE on Prime Video 4, 'Silky Smooth' appeared to right the ship with a big second-round KO against Niclas Larsen four months later.

Unfortunately, it's been all downhill for Abasolo since then.

With decision losses against Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong and Luke Lessei in his last two outings, Abasolo is in desperate need of a win if he hopes to stay relevant in the loaded featherweight Muay Thai division.
