“This card is just as stacked” - Jake Peacock says ONE 169 in Atlanta is bigger than the Denver event
Limb-different fighter Jake Peacock is excited to be competing at ONE Championship's scheduled live on-ground event in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A., in November. He even touts the card as being better than the one held in Denver earlier this month.
'The One' is set to battle veteran Japanese Shinji Suzuki in a bantamweight Muay Thai clash, part of the event happening at the State Farm Arena, home of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks.
In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Peacock spoke about being part of a big event like ONE 169, which will feature some of the promotion's top stars. The 31-year-old British-Canadian fighter said:
"I do think it's one of their biggest cards of the year. I mean the Denver card was a great turnout, they had some quality fights there, but this card is just stacked -- maybe more.
"You know, Rodtang's on the card, Tawanchai, 'Smokin' Jo. We've got a great roster of guys on there. The MMA main event and then, of course, me."
Headlining ONE 169: Atlanta is the heavyweight MMA world title fight between Russian champion Anatoly Malykhin and Senegalese challenger Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane. Also featured are Muay Thai champions Rodtang Jitmuangnon (flyweight) and Tawanchai PK Saenchai (featherweight) in separate title fights,as well as the comeback of lightweight MMA king Christian Lee.
Meanwhile, Jake Peacock, who has a missing right forearm, which did not fully grow while he was in the womb, enters ONE 169 off a winning ONE debut back in April.
ONE 169: Atlanta will be broadcast over Amazon Prime Video to North American fans. Tickets for the event, meanwhile, are available for purchase via Ticketmaster.
Jake Peacock says it is an honor to be part of ONE Championship

The Dunamis Muay Thai affiliate made his promotional debut back in April, winning by unanimous decision over Japanese Kohei Shinjo. Following his victory he shared his thoughts on finally landing in ONE, sharing in the post-event press conference:
"It's an absolute honor to fight for ONE Championship. It's most people's dream, and I am living the dream. So I am very grateful to be on this platform and to showcase my skills with the best talent in the world."
