“This guy lacks skills” - Anatoly Malykhin completely downplays ‘Reug Reug’ as a threat in world title defense at ONE 169
To say that Anatoly Malykhin doesn't see Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane as a threat is a massive understatement.
The reigning three-division king will defend his ONE heavyweight MMA world title against Kane in the main event of ONE 169 on November 8 at the historic Lumpinee Stadium.
Before Malykhin gets his hands on Kane, the Russian knockout machine completely downplayed 'Reug Reug' and that his new foe has no chance of beating him in their Bangkok showdown.
Malykhin, who also holds the ONE middleweight and light heavyweight MMA world titles, practically described Kane as delusional in terms of fighting and microphone skills.
He said in an interview with ONE Championship:
"I don’t feel anything about it. This guy … How can he be a star? He lacks skills. This guy lacks skills. This guy lacks charisma. I think he will put his gloves on the nail after our fight."
Kane, Anatoly Malykhin's first world title challenger in ONE Championship, has been talking smack about the three-division world champion every chance he gets.
'Reug Reug' has called Malykhin a "fake champion" and accused him of ducking several times on social media ahead of ONE 169.
Malykhin, though, remained relatively quiet during Kane's tirades and only broke his silence during his interview with the promotion.
Nevertheless, 'Sladkiy' is ready to bludgeon Kane and add him to his list of knockout victims in ONE Championship.
Malykhin is arguably the hardest-hitting fighter in the entire MMA landscape, with all six of his wins in ONE Championship coming via knockout.
ONE 169 is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Anatoly Malykhin doesn't bask in the glory of his status as a three-division world champion
Anatoly Malykhin can claim his status as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world since he has the hardware to prove his argument in the realm of hypothetical discussions.
'Sladkiy' currently holds the ONE middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight MMA world titles, but he's not one to revel in the glory of his victories.
Malykhin is getting ready to defend his heavyweight throne against Oumar Kane at ONE 169, and he remains steadfast on knocking out 'Reug Reug' and retaining his place at the mountaintop.
"Now I'm hungry, and I don't think about my belts and achievements. This is very important for me now."
