“This is the profession I chose” - Christian Lee says retiring from MMA was never an option for him despite family tragedy

Reigning and undisputed ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world champion 'The Warrior' Christian Lee of the United States has been out of action for nearly two years. However, the 26-year-old Singaporean-American double champ is ready to make a comeback.

Lee stepped away from competition, going into hiatus following the tragic death of younger sister 'The Prodigy' Victoria Lee in Dec. 2022. 'The Warrior' and his entire family took their time to mourn, and now he's ready to honor Victoria by continuing his legacy in ONE Championship.

Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in a recent interview, Lee said retirement never crossed his mind, and he knew he would be back in the Circle one day.

'The Warrior' stated:

"Of course, it was a tough time. Fighting was the last thing I was thinking about. But at the end of the day, this is the profession I chose. I have a family to take care of, and it's still something that I love to do. I love to go in there and train. I love to go out there and fight. I think at the end of the day it was never going to be an option for me."

Needless to say, fans can't wait to see Christian Lee back in action, and it won't be long until they do.
