“This title victory is going to be studied” - ‘Reug Reug’ believes he’s destined to dethrone Anatoly Malykhin in Atlanta
Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane is brimming with confidence ahead of his world title shot, and he believes his perceived dominance is down to a scientific level. The Senegalese grappling machine will challenge three-division world champion Anatoly Malykhin for the ONE heavyweight MMA world title in one of the featured fights at ONE 169: Atlanta.
The colossal clash between the two heavyweight monsters goes down on Nov. 8, US primetime, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Taking to Instagram, Kane said he is destined to capture the heavyweight MMA throne in Atlanta and that future generations will study the way he would beat Malykhin.
He wrote:
"This title victory is going to be studied for years to come! #AirOumar ✈ ATL, we're coming."
Kane was never shy in his callouts of Malykhin, and he would often mix it up with how he threw his threats at the Russian knockout machine.
'Reug Reug' promised to dominate Malykhin in his previous callouts, and even called 'Sladkiy' a "fake champion" in his recent Instagram posts.
The 32-year-old, however, could be baiting a beast outside his level.
Malykhin is a perfect 14-0 in his career, 6-0 in his ONE Championship run, and has an absurd 100 percent finish rate.
Apart from the ONE heavyweight MMA world title, Malykhin also holds the ONE light heavyweight and middleweight MMA world championships.
'Reug Reug' isn't too impressed with Anatoly Malykhin's striking
Anatoly Malykhin has knocked out every opponent he's faced in ONE Championship, but Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane isn't that impressed with the Russian monster's striking arsenal.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Kane said Malykhin doesn't have a diverse striking game and only relies on his boxing.
He said:
"Yeah, it's easy for me. I do it easy, you know. Malykhin doesn't do high kicks, only punches. But in MMA, it's everything."
