Three-sport menace Danial Williams unsure "how Haggerty is going to mix it up" against Superlek in Denver super match
Former two-time world title challenger Danial Williams is excited to see the highly anticipated clash between Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek Kiatmoo9 in the co-main event of ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 inside the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
The two striking superstars will battle it out for Haggerty's ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title, which he recently defended against Felipe Lobo in February at ONE Fight Night 19.
In his most recent interview with ONE Championship, Williams claimed that Haggerty would have a hard time against Superlek because of his top-class technical skills and ability to avoid strikes effectively.
'Mini T' explained:
"Yeah, and I think the fact that Superlek is so good, he's gonna be a bit hard to hit. Even for someone of Haggerty's standard. It's going to be different. Hadn't seen much of that, but even if that happens in this fight, I can't see how Haggerty is going to mix it up with Superlek inside."
The three-sport strawweight contender spoke from his experience fighting Superlek in March 2023 at ONE Fight Night 8, where he received a third-round knockout loss.
This will be the second meeting between Haggerty and Superlek after their previous encounter outside of ONE Championship. The latter drew first blood in their head-to-head matchup after their fight was waived off by the doctor due to the former's massive cut on his face.
Danial Williams said that it is a hard pick the clear winner between Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek
Although he thinks that 'The Kicking Machine' has the advantage in terms of stylistic style against 'The General,' Williams feels that picking a clear winner between the two superstars is hard because they are high-level guys at the top of their game.
Haggerty, who also holds the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title, currently has six straight victories under the world's largest martial arts organization while Superlek rides a nine-fight winning streak of his own.
ONE 168: Denver will air live from the Ball Arena in U.S. primetime on Sept. 6.
Tickets for the event are now on sale at Ticketmaster.
