“Time to get beat up” - Danielle Kelly shares a glimpse of her training camp before arriving in Bagkok for ONE Fight Night 24

Danielle Kelly recently showed a glimpse of what went through during her training camp in preparation for her first world title defense.

The reigning ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion shared on Instagram a snippet of her training sessions at Droogs MMA ahead of her match against Mayssa Bastos.

Kelly will defend her throne against the multi-time BJJ world champion in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 24 on Friday, US primetime, at the historic Lumpinee Stadium.

Although her home gym is at Silver Fox BJJ, Danielle Kelly will train at Droogs MMA to complement her skillset.

She said in the video:

"Sunday morning training, time to get beat up. Right now I'm in Pennsylvania, where I was born and raised. I come here to Droogs to get more competition with the girls and other guys here."

Kelly has since arrived in Bangkok for ONE Fight Night 24's fight week, where she'll try to extend her unbeaten streak in ONE Championship and defend her gold against one of this generation's best submission grapplers.

After settling for a draw with Mei Yamaguchi in her promotional debut at ONE X, Kelly racked up three straight wins over Mariia Molchanova, Ayaka Miura, and Jessa Khan.

Bastos, though, might be the toughest fighter Danielle Kelly will face in ONE Championship. The Brazilian star won nine BJJ world titles under the IBJJF, IBJJF No-Gi, and Whos Number One.

Kelly's world title defense against Bastos, and the entire ONE Fight Night 24 card, is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.

Danielle Kelly says Mayssa Bastos may employ the same game plan as Jessa Khan

The world title matchup between Danielle Kelly and Mayssa Bastos has a touch of drama behind it.

Bastos and Jessa Khan are teammates at Art of Jiu-Jitsu Academy, and Kelly believes her old rival has been helping her newfound adversary in training camp.

Kelly said in an interview with ONE Championship that she expects Bastos to focus on taking her back, just as Khan did in their matchup at ONE Fight Night 14:

"I mean, that's always the goal, but I feel like she might play legs because she was doing that in her last match. But if I have to look from the outside, if her coaches are doing some studying on me, I feel like they're gonna tell her to try to take my back just as Jessa did the first one. I don't think they're training together, though. But they're teammates, so they're definitely studying film together."
