"To my children, I'm nobody" - Mike Tyson gets brutally honest about his family watching him fight Jake Paul
Mike Tyson is eager to beat Jake Paul, and he especially wants to do so in front of his family, who will be present at the venue to watch him fight. Tyson recently stated that he wants to show his children how great their father is.
Tyson is set to return to professional boxing when he takes on Paul on Nov. 15 in an eight-round contest at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Ahead of their matchup, the 58-year-old recently displayed his boxing prowess at an open workout at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas. Following this, Tyson was asked about his thoughts on his family watching him fight Paul.
In response, the boxing legend said:
''Family's everything. But my kids, to my children, I’m nobody. But that night they’re going to find out their father is very special.''

Since it was first announced earlier this year, the Paul vs. Tyson boxing match has caused a great deal of debate and discussion due to the latter's old age. The YouTuber-turned-boxer was originally slated to face Tyson in a heavyweight contest on July 20. However, an ulcer flare-up forced the former undisputed heavyweight champion to withdraw from the bout.
Then, on the initial date of the Tyson bout, Paul faced former UFC fighter and BKFC star Mike Perry, defeating him via TKO in the sixth round. The 27-year-old's professional record now stands at 10-1 after this win.
Meanwhile, Tyson's last professional bout was in June 2005, when he faced Kevin McBride and suffered a sixth-round TKO loss. His most recent boxing contest, an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, concluded in a draw.
Jake Paul predicts Mike Tyson clash
Jake Paul has repeatedly asserted his belief in knocking out Mike Tyson in their upcoming boxing match this Friday, which will be live-streamed on Netflix. Given the significant age gap between Paul and Tyson, the announcement that their fight would be a professional bout elicited mixed reactions from fans worldwide.
In the aforementioned open workout, Paul once again sent a strong warning to Tyson, saying:
''I was built for this, destined for this. Gods got me, the universe got me and I, Jake Joseph Paul, will knock out Mike Tyson Friday, Nov. 15, it is written in the fu**ing history books.'' [2:22:21]
