Tom Aspinall makes humble request to Merab Dvalishvili following UFC 316 domination
Tom Aspinall recently made a request to Merab Dvalishvili, aiming to develop cardio similar to that of the UFC bantamweight champion.
'The Machine' is fresh off another victory over Sean O'Malley at UFC 316 last Saturday. After watching Dvalishvili continuously shoot for takedowns during the fight, Aspinall recognized his elite stamina.
In a video on his YouTube channel, Aspinall expressed his desire to gain the Georgian fighter's cardio, saying:
"Merab just doesn't stylistically match up with anybody else in the division. He's just overwhelm's guys. He just keeps going, won't stop. He has that weird herky-jerky standup style. Does 50 takedowns per round. He never stops working for 25 minutes..."
He added:
"To me, [Merab] looks unstoppable right now. And 'The Machine' is the best nickname that you can have for a guy like this... I want Merab's cardio. Merab, show me what's what. Get me in that kind of shape. I'm ready for it."

The reigning UFC bantamweight champion holds the record for the most takedowns landed in the promotion's history, with 97 takedowns.
Tom Aspinall labels Merab Dvalishvili as "the best bantamweight" in the world
Currently on a 13-fight win streak, Merab Dvalishvili has beaten some former UFC champions, including Sean O'Malley, Henry Cejudo, and Petr Yan. In the aforementioned video on his YouTube channel, Tom Aspinall stated that Dvalishvili is probably the best bantamweight fighter right now.
Aspinall also dismissed some of the former bantamweights, such as Dominick Cruz or TJ Dillashaw, and proclaimed Dvalishvili as 'The Machine', the greatest 135-pound fighter of all time.
"Merab's definitely in the conversation of being the best bantamweight ever, if not for me, the best bantamweight ever. Yeah, we could talk about Dominick Cruz, what he did in the WEC, and all that stuff. We can potentially talk about TJ Dillashaw... Couple more guys, of course, up there. But for me, right now, Merab, he's definitely the best bantamweight in the world. That's not even up for debate." [3:27]
