Sean O'Malley shares his take on Cory Sandhagen's performance against Marlon Vera at UFC San Antonio
Sean O'Malley recently shared his thoughts on Cory Sandhagen's impressive performance against Marlon 'Chito' Vera. According to 'Sugar,' Sandhagen simply outclassed Vera in the fight.
O'Malley also discussed the impact of the size of the octagon on the fight, saying that the larger cage favored Sandhagen's style of fighting. He explained that the difference between the small cage and the big cage is like playing basketball on a half-court versus a full court. The larger cage gave Sandhagen more room to move and execute his game plan.
"I think Cory just outclassed him. I do think the big cage - it's like if you're playing a basketball game and you're like, 'Well, let's just play half-court'. That's pretty much the difference between the small cage and the big cage. It's 40 percent bigger, so it's like a different playing ground that you're playing with. I think it would have favored 'Chito' a lot more in the smaller cage."
Despite Vera's skill and durability, O'Malley believes that Sandhagen's focused approach and wrestling tactics were the key factors in his victory. He also noted that Sandhagen is a formidable opponent in the division.
'The Sandman's win over Vera was a significant milestone in his career, and it has earned him a place in the top three of the UFC bantamweight rankings. With his impressive skills and performances inside the octagon, it's clear that Sandhagen will continue to be a top contender in the division for years to come.
