"Two-faced, lying f***ing nut job" - Dana White gets candid about his years-long beef with Oscar De La Hoya
Dana White recently opened up about his long-running feud with Oscar De La Hoya and explained why the two could never bury the hatchet. White also recalled De La Hoya attacking him for promoting Conor McGregor's boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in Aug. 2017.
It's no secret that there's no love lost between White and De La Hoya. The two have been feuding since the Mayweather-McGregor fight and rarely miss an opportunity to fire insults at each other. To top it all, De La Hoya has also expressed a keen interest in fighting White in the squared circle and has called out the UFC CEO on social media several times.
During a recent interview with former NFL superstar Shannon Sharpe, White addressed his beef with the former boxing world champion and laid out all that went wrong in their relationship.
After Sharpe asked White if his beef with De La Hoya started after he blocked a potential fight between 'The Golden Boy' and George St-Pierre, he said:
"Oscar De La Hoya is a f***ing two-faced, lying f***ing nut job. Me and Oscar are never going to be cool. Never ever... Look at anybody who's ever dealt with Oscar De La Hoya... I don't know if that guy has literally any-f***ing-body who's his real friend... I go to do Mayweather vs. McGregor, and he starts sh***ing on the fight, yet saying, 'I would fight McGregor though.'"
When Oscar De La Hoya offered to fight Dana White on a potential Ryan Garcia vs. Sean O'Malley card
Earlier this year, Oscar De La Hoya opened up about a potential Ryan Garcia vs. Sean O'Malley boxing match. The former professional boxer also offered to fight Dana White in the co-main event.
During an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, De La Hoya addressed the Garcia-O'Malley beef. Further adding that he'd like to face White on the same card, he said:
"I like him[Sean O'Malley]. He's a good striker... It would be a hell of a promotion. I would actually entertain that because Ryan can fight in the main event with this kid and maybe I can do Dana on the co-main... We're cool, but it's all good - I mean, I don't know if we're cool. I mean, I haven't talked to the guy... I'm good, but it doesn't mean that we can't go at it."
