Two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty says "easy fights" don’t exist in ONE Championship: "I’m in the best organization"

Two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty doesn't believe there's such a thing as "easy fights" in ONE Championship. After earning a trio of highlight-reel knockouts against Nong-O Hama, Fabricio Andrade, and Felipe Lobo in his last three outings, 'The General' will return to the Circle for perhaps his toughest test yet on Friday, Sept. 6.

Emanating from Ball Arena in The Mile High City—Denver, Colorado—ONE 168: Denver will deliver a can't-miss main event as Haggerty puts his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship on the line against Thai sensation Superlek.

During an appearance on the Sky Sports MMA Club ahead of his highly anticipated return, Haggerty made it clear that in a martial arts organization as big as ONE Championship, there's no such thing as an easy fight.

“I’m in the best organization in the world now, there’s no easy fights,” Haggerty said.

Over the last few years, Haggerty has established himself as one of the best in the art of eight limbs, but his days as a two-sport champ may be numbered as he prepares to meet one of the most feared strikers on the planet.

Superlek looks to add Jonathan Haggerty to his growing Muay Thai hit list

Since signing with ONE Championship more than a year ago, Superlek is yet to lose a fight in Muay Thai, earning a series of noteworthy wins against Walter Goncalves, Tagir Khalilov, Nabile Anane, and most recently, Kongthoranee Sor Sommai.

However, his biggest career accomplishment came in Sept. 2023 when he scored a sensational unanimous decision victory over 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE Friday Fights 34.

The bout was immediately hailed as ONE Championship's Muay Thai Fight of the Year and one of the greatest scraps in the last 50 years of the sport.

Since then, Superlek—who also reigns as the current ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion—added a dominant five-round victory over Japanese K-1 icon Takeru Segawa at ONE 165 in Tokyo.

Will 'The Kicking Machine' take his place atop the Muay Thai P4P rankings with a big win over Jonathan Haggerty, or will 'The General' continue to dominate the bantamweight division and add another Thai legend to his resume?
