Tyson Fury is not interested in Francis Ngannou anymore because of his split with UFC, says Sean O'Malley

Sean O'Malley weighed in on the possibility of Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou competing in a boxing bout and the possibility of it coming to fruition.

During episode #228 of his TimboSugarShow podcast, O'Malley spoke about Ngannou and whether he will regret leaving the UFC. He mentioned that Fury could have possibly lost interest in the fight, especially considering that Jon Jones recently submitted Ciryl Gane to win the vacant heavyweight championship:

"Tyson Fury's not interested in Francis Ngannou anymore. He was interested in Francis when he was the UFC champ. He was the pound-for-pound the best baddest motherf****er in the world, now he's not signed to the UFC, now it's not as intriguing, who is Francis? Francis eventually gonna be like well, he hasn't fought in two years. " [10:39 - 10:58]

Sean O'Malley added that 'The Predator's stock could have fallen due to inactivity, which could have jeopardized his other opportunities. He mentioned that he could have overplayed his hand by seeking out a lucrative boxing payday and missed out on a fight with 'Bones' as a result, saying:

"I think he's thinking he saw Conor [McGregor] do it but Conor did it with that UFC, he didn't do it by himself. The more days go on, the less intrigued, the less care we have for Francis to go to boxing." [11:22 - 11:33]

However, in a recent post-fight interview, UFC President Dana White confirmed that Ngannou will never fight in the promotion again.

Sean O'Malley issued a warning to Aljamain Sterling to sign the contract for his fight against Henry Cejudo, or he will replace him and strip him of his title.

'Triple C' recently uploaded a video to his YouTube channel telling the No.1 ranked bantamweight to remain prepared in case he needs to step in on short notice. 'Sugar' tweeted out the warning, which insinuated that 'Funk Master' doesn't believe he'll be ready to defend his title against Cejudo on May 6 at UFC 288:

"As the president of the bantamweight division I demand a contract signed by Aljo by the end of the week or I will strip him from his title and book myself a title fight."

It remains to be seen whether 'Sugar' and 'Triple C' know more about Sterling's injury status than what's being reported or if it's just trash talk to generate interest in the fight.
