"If the contract doesn't get signed with Oleksandr Usyk, then we'll do the Ngannou fight."

Fury has also announced certain unusual requirements for a fight against 'The Predator:

UFC heavyweight fighter Francis Ngannou has become a free agent since his contract with the promotion expired this January and has expressed his desire to compete in the boxing ring. In a recent video posted to his YouTube channel, Ngannou expressed his desire to compete in boxing before signing with another MMA promotion.

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, he even stated that he wouldn't mind taking on WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury:

“Whatever it is with Tyson Fury, I will take it. I have no problem doing boxing with four-ounce gloves. We were talking about something hybrid, maybe the four ounce gloves, maybe inside the cage. We’ll figure it out”

Fury also showed his interest in the potential fight by reposting the news of Ngannou's recent release on his Instagram Story before deleting it. With Ngannou now a free agent, it looks like the fight between him and Fury could be closer to becoming a reality.

Tyson Fury might not be interested to fight Francis Ngannou, says Chael Sonnen

Chael Sonnen recently discussed Tyson Fury's potential interest in fighting former UFC heavyweight champion, Cameroonian-born fighter Francis Ngannou, on an episode of his Beyond The Fight podcast.

Sonnen argued that Fury has no incentive to take on Ngannou in a boxing match since he is currently a free agent.

Citing his reasons, Sonnen said:

"I understand that boxing is where he wants to be, but you've got to understand, in boxing - you've got a guy that was outstruck in his last fight. That's just the truth. Ciryl Gane outstruck him. You got a guy that has a knee injury. You got a guy that's an unknown age of at least 36 years old and you got a guy that's over 300 pounds."

He further continued, saying:

"This isn't what the world is playing - it's just not. If you're Tyson Fury and you go beat up a guy who's never done this before, who's coming off a knee injury, who's over the weight limit - you got to have something that Tyson could use, and you did when you had the UFC championship and now you don't."
