Tyson Fury shares heartbreaking ordeal of wife Paris suffering miscarriage day before first Oleksandr Usyk fight: "I could not be there for her"
Tyson Fury recently opened up about his wife, Paris, going through a heartwrenching personal tragedy a day before his undisputed heavyweight title fight against Oleksandr Usyk in May. He revealed she suffered a miscarriage on the eve of his fight but kept the news to herself till he returned home.
The former WBC heavyweight champion lost his bid to become the undisputed heavyweight king after an intense, closely contested battle against Usyk. After 12 rounds of action, 'The Cat' beat Fury via split decision. However, the loss wasn't the only heartbreak suffered by the Englishman that weekend.
Fury recently revealed that he suspected his wife, who was six months pregnant at the time, had lost the child after she couldn't fly out to Riyadh for his fight due to high blood pressure. While she didn't tell him the reason, he received confirmation of his worst fears after he reached home.
During a presser ahead of his Usyk rematch on Dec. 21, 'The Gypsy King' expressed dismay at not being able to be there for his wife during her ordeal and said:
"The [child] that she was having, she lost that on the Friday of the fight, which was pretty shi**y. She was six months pregnant. It's not like a small miscarriage at the beginning... To go through that on your own isn't good. I could not be there for her in that moment. And that's tough for me."
Fury continued:
"When she said she couldn't come over, I knew there was a problem. She usually comes out on fight week, but she said she had high blood pressure... I asked her what was up and asked her to tell me, but she wouldn't... She never told me she had lost the baby, but I knew. When I got back, I got the inevitable confirmation that it was gone, but she had kept it to herself." [H/t: Sky Sports]

Tyson Fury expecting a knockout victory over Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch
In the same pre-fight press conference, Tyson Fury shared his thoughts on his highly anticipated rematch against Oleksandr Usyk and stated that he expects to get the job done this time around.
During the presser, Fury pointed out that he's knocked out every opponent he's rematched and envisioned a similar outcome against 'The Cat' in their second showdown. He said:
"As it would seem, my rematch with people always end up one way. I always end up knocking them out in the rematch, whoever I’ve faced more than once has been knocked out in the rematch. So I’m envisioning somewhat similar in the second fight with Usyk." [H/t: Bad Left Hook]
