Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk: Full video highlights
Earlier today, May 18, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk went toe-to-toe inside the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia to determine who would solidify their legacy with the latest undisputed heavyweight boxing world champion. The last fighter to reach the historic undisputed accomplishment was Lennox Lewis when he defeated Evander Holyfield in 1999.
Heading into the 'Ring of Fire' event, Fury needed to make a statement following his last fight. In October 2023, 'The Gypsy King' faced former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, with the latter securing a knockdown and barely losing by a majority decision. The win extended Fury's record to 34-0-1.
As for Usyk, the Ukranian heavyweight faced adversity and slight controversy in his last fight. During his August 2023 matchup against Daniel Dubois, Usyk was dropped by a body shot and the referee arguably made a mistake by deciding the sequence was an illegal groin strike.
Nonetheless, the 37-year-old defeated Dubois with a ninth-round knockout to push his record to 21-0. Usyk's latest win led to the highly-anticipated undisputed world title clash against Fury in Saudi Arabia.
