UFC 287: Media producer reveals fight week incentive pay for Israel Adesanya, Alex Pereira, Jorge Masvidal, and more
Media producer Jed Goodman has shared the fight week incentive pay for Israel Adesanya, Alex Pereira, and other fighters who'll feature in this weekend's UFC 287.
Saturday night's pay-per-view is set to be headlined by rivals Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya taking on each other once again. The title rematch is their second fight under the UFC banner and sees 'Poatan' stepping into the octagon as the defending middleweight champion.
The Brazilian is looking to cause an upset once again and extend his unofficial head-to-head against 'The Last Stylebender' to 4-0. Pereira has previously faced Adesanya on three occasions, holding two victories in kickboxing and one in MMA over the Nigerian-New Zealander.
Elsewhere on the card, the returning Jorge Masvidal will try to turn around a three-fight skid when he faces Gilbert Burns. The bout marks the end of a 13-month hiatus for the 38-year-old Miami native.
All fighters on the card have their own personal contracts. However, they are due fight week incentive pay. The pay is based on how many fights they have had in the organization.
Based on the figures shared by Goodman (@jedigoodman), Pereira is taking home an extra $42,000 as the champion, whereas Israel Adesanya is making $32,000 for his appearances during fight week.
Other top earners include Jorge Masvidal and Kelvin Gastelum, who will each make $21,000. The pair are categorized as Tier 6 as they have fought over 20 times in the UFC. Welterweights Kevin Holland and Gilbert Burns are in Tier 5, earning $16,000.

Michael Bisping gives prediction for Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira
Michael Bisping feels history may repeat itself when Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira step into the octagon at UFC 287.
Pereira stunned the world when he defeated Adesanya at UFC 281 last year. Down on the scorecards heading into the fifth round, the Brazilian continued to press forward before eventually landing a devastating combination of punches to force the TKO.
Discussing their rematch on his YouTube channel, the former middleweight champion couldn't help but lean towards 'Poatan' getting the job done once again:
"I think Pereira is gonna go out there, he's gonna be oozing with confidence. I think his takedown defense would have dramatically improved, I think his submission defense will be better, he's gonna be better all round. He's fitting into this mold as the champion, he's feeling the money... He's an absolute force of nature, he hits so hard, and he's pushing himself to the limit."
'The Count' added:
"Basically, what I'm saying, I believe that Alex 'Poatan' Pereira gets the job done, once again. Now, granted, it's not a very confident bet."
