UFC 307: Roman Dolidze vs. Kevin Holland: Full video highlights
The much-anticipated middleweight bout at UFC 307 saw Roman Dolidze face Kevin Holland in what promised to be an exciting clash of styles. Dolidze, who defeated Anthony Smith in his last fight, looked to solidify his top-10 status, while Holland returned to action following a first-round submission win over Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC 302.
In the first round, Dolidze immediately tried to cut off Holland’s movement, forcing him toward the cage. Holland responded with consistent leg kicks, attempting to keep the bigger Georgian at bay. However, Dolidze found an opening, connecting with a strong right hand and quickly taking the fight to the ground.
Once on top, Dolidze unleashed a series of ground-and-pound strikes, effectively controlling the round. 'Trailblazer' struggled to escape Dolidze’s dominance on the mat and attempted an armbar submission, but Dolidze countered, regaining top control.
As the round ended, it was evident that Holland was in trouble, signaling to his corner that he may have suffered a rib injury during the grappling exchange. With the ground control and strikes adding up, Holland’s coach made the decision to stop the fight before the second round could begin.
Roman Dolidze was declared the winner via TKO due to injury after the first round, marking his second victory of the year.
