UFC 310 bonuses and aftermath: Alexandre Pantoja bags $50K for matching Demetrious Johnson's record, Shavkat Rakhmonov surpasses Belal Muhammad
UFC 310 proved to be an entertaining affair with exciting moments spread throughout the card. The event had an attendance of 18,648 people and earned a gate revenue of $5,011,650.
The card was headlined by a flyweight championship bout between Alexandre Pantoja and debutant Kai Asakura. 'The Cannibal' made light work of his opponent and submitted him with a rear-naked choke in the second round. The champion was awarded a 'Performance of the Night' bonus worth $50,000 for his efforts.
With the victory, Pantoja is now tied with Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez for the most wins (13) in the UFC's 125-pound division. The Brazilian now also shares the record for most finishes (7) in the flyweight division's history with 'Might Mouse' and Deiveson Figueiredo.
The co-main event of UFC 310 featured a five-round welterweight scrap between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Garry. With a total of 33 victories, the fight broke the record for the most combined wins between two undefeated fighters in the UFC.
The record was previously held by Israel Adesanya vs. Paulo Costa, who had a combined 32-0 record at the time of their showdown.
Rakhmonov emerged victorious via unanimous decision and is now tied with Jack Della Maddalena for the longest active win streak (7) in the 170-pound division.
Bryce Mitchell also had a good day at the office as he knocked out Kron Gracie in the third round of their scrap. 'Thug Nasty' now has the second-most wins in the featherweight division since 2018.
Vicente Luque impressed many in the MMA comunity with his 52-second finish against Themba Gorimbo. He was named among the victors of the 'Performance of the Night' bonus and received an additional sum of $50,000.
After UFC 310, Luque has 14 finishes, the second-most in the UFC welterweight division's history.
In a highly competitive affair, Movsar Evloev edged out a decision victory against Aljamain Sterling. With the win, the Russian is now riding an eight-fight win streak as a featherweight, currently the longest in the 145-pound division.
Evloev is also the first fighter to win all of his first nine fights in the UFC and not have a single finish during that run.
Kennedy Nzechukwu and Chase Hooper scored first round finishes in their respective bouts at UFC 310 and received a $50,000 bonus each.
