
UFC 316: Vicente Luque vs. Kevin Holland: Live round-by-round updates
UFC 316's main card will be kicked off by an exciting welterweight clash between two of the promotion's veterans. Vicente Luque and Kevin Holland will go to war over three rounds in the opening bout of the main card. Both fighters holds records of 2-3 in their last five fights. Despite holding a losing record over their past five fights, they each won their previous bout and will enter the octagon on June 7 with confidence.
Luque occupies the No.14 ranking in the division, a spot that Holland would gladly assume should he secure victory over the Brazilian on Saturday. 'Trailblazer' has had a busy 2025, having competed twice already, with UFC 316 being a third fight in six months. 'The Silent Assassin' will be making his first appearance in the octagon of 2025.

Round 1:
Vicente Luque opens up the round as the more active fighter, before Kevin Holland begins finding his range and landing several thudding strikes. Holland lands a powerful right elbow that hurts Luque briefly as the pair break from the clinch. After a chaotic minute the action slows, before swiftly picking back up. The Brazilian begins finding his shots and lands a crisp left hook. 'Trailblazer' controls the center of the octagon for most of the round, with both fighters throwing lots of feints to close out the opening stanza.
Round 2:
The pair trade left hooks to begin the round before Luque hits the floor after losing his footing. Holland jumps onto top position and locks up a tight d'arce choke which forces his opponent to tap, and the referee stops the fight.
