UFC boss Dana White unveils brand new belt design for his Power Slap League
UFC president Dana White's Power Slap League has unveiled a design for its championship straps. MMA journalist John Morgan recently uploaded a picture of the same, including insights into the design.
The belt strap is made of PVC leather while the main plate is composed of cast Zinc alloy. The strap also includes a side plate that can be changed to designate the weight class.
Get further details of the belt design below:
- BELT STRAP: Made of genuine PVC leather. The Power Slap brand elements (bolt, bullseye, and triangle) are incorporated throughout the belt design. The 'SLAP' logo featured on the belt was specifically developed for the same.
- WEIGHT CLASS DESIGNATION: Side plate can be changed out to reflect specific weight class.
- MAIN PLATE: Composed of cast zinc alloy with nickel and silver, the reverberation of the slap is visualized in the detail of the main plate.
- "SLAP" LOGO: Specifically developed for the Power Slap championship belt, this special process plating gives the "SLAP" logo its unique blue appearance.
Dana White and the NSAC have been widely criticized for sanctioning a sport that is likely to leave athletes with brain damage.
New details on Slap Fighting after Dana White gets it regulated
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has come up with an improved ruleset for the newly regulated Slap Fighting League, headed by Dana White.
The Power Slap league promotes three- and five-round matches – with the striker getting 30 seconds to deliver a slap before switching roles with the defender, who then gets 30 seconds to recover.
Before slapping, the 'striker' must clearly indicate what hand they’re going to use to slap and whether the slap will be on a 1-, 2- or 3-count. A 1-count means no windup, while a 2- and 3-count respectively means one and two “practice” motions before the slap.
According to the rules, a defender must also hold on to a “Power Slap Stick” behind their back with both hands and not try to block the strike by any means. The Power Slap League could also allow knocked-out fighters to continue if they recover and establish their fitness within a two-minute window.
