UFC on ESPN+ 31 weigh-ins: Headliners make weight
UFC on ESPN+ 31: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan is all set to take place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday, and the promotion has announced the results of the weigh-ins that took place on Friday.
Edmen Shahbazyan and Derek Brunson, who are supposed to throw down in a middleweight main event clash both made weight for their three-round main event. Edmen Shahbazyan weighed in at 185.5 while his opponent Brunson, the long-time veteran, weighed in at 186.
Co-main event star Joanne Calderwood weighed in at 126 for her women’s flyweight bout against Jennifer Maia, who came in at 124.5. Maia missed weight in her last two fights in the UFC, but it was smooth going for her this time aroud.
Unfortunately, there were some fighters who missed weight. In the bantamweight division, Jonathan Martinez weighed in at 140.5, while his opponent Frankie Saenz made weight at 136 for their fight this weekend.
