Sodiq Yusuff's UFC run so far

Yusuff would make his UFC debut after putting together a 7-1 professional mixed martial arts record, which came on the back of a 7-0 run in the amateur circuit. He punched his ticket into the UFC in the Contender's Series, and made an emphatic debut under the promotional banner.

A first-round knockout of Gabriel Benitez really set things off and his sophomore fight in the promotion further underscored the potential of Yusuff. A victory over the tenured Andre Fili came by way of a unanimous decision. Unfortunately, his spotless record would receive its first UFC blemish in his next outing.

Sodiq Yusuff would fall short to top-level featherweight Arnold Allen, but rebounded with victories over Alex Caceres and Don Shainis thereafter.

The 31-year-old had previously worked his way to a solid placement within the organization's top fifteen rankings at featherweight but has since been ousted after back-to-back losses to two tough contenders.

'Super' would fall short versus Edson Barboza by way of a unanimous decision in October of last year in their Fight Night headliner. He last stepped into the cage, as per the time of writing, a few months back, but would fall short against the current number three contender at 145 pounds.

Yusuf was finished with strikes in the first round less than a minute and a half into his bout against Diego Lopes in April. Yusuff has established himself as a high-level featherweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship despite these recent setbacks and many will be excited for whatever his next in-cage assignment will be.
