The No.4-ranked UFC featherweight Arnold Allen slammed fans for calling football star Cristiano Ronaldo greedy for signing with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr FC.

Many fans didn't take kindly to the Portuguese player's move to the Arab football club, calling his move 'greedy.' In response to their backlash, Arnold Allen posted the following tweet berating them for going after Ronaldo:

Having been signed to the Middle Eastern football club, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the highest-paid athlete, earning a reported £485,000 a day. The news was made official by Al Nassr FC's official Twitter handle, who posted the following:

History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome @Cristiano to your new home @AlNassrFC https://t.co/oan7nu8NWC

Cristiano Ronaldo has played for clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United and Juventus. Most recently, he played for his national team at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, where Portugal was defeated by Morocco in the quarterfinals.

Ronaldo is in his late-30s, an age that is usually considered the retirement age for most professional footballers. It only makes sense that the Portuguese footballer is looking for the biggest payday of his lifetime in the closing era of his professional career.

Is UFC featherweight Arnold Allen on track towards a title?

Arnold Allen is one of the hottest prospects in the UFC featherweight division, having been undefeated in his last 12 fights. 'Almighty' had two fights in 2022, against Dan Hooker and Calvin Kattar to secure the No.4 spot in the featherweight division.

Divisional champion Alexander Volkanovski heaped praise on the featherweight prospect, calling him a 'great fighter' and a 'great human being'. Here's what Volkanovski said about Allen on the Believe You Me podcast with Michael Bisping and Anthony Smith:

"He’s the one who’s at least trying to go out there and earn it. You know, he’s the type of guy with an ‘earned, not given’ kind of attitude. And, I love that.”

Arnold Allen faced Dan Hooker at this year's UFC London event (UFC Fight Night 204), where he finished the Kiwi fighter in the first round with punches and elbows. In his next fight, he faced Calvin Kattar in the main event of UFC Fight Night 213. The fight ended in an anticlimactic fashion after Kattar dislodged his knee following a failed flying knee attempt in the second round.

Arnold Allen is undefeated in the UFC with a promotional record of 10-0 and an overall MMA record of 19-1.
