UFC Fight Night: Jared Cannonier vs. Caio Borralho: Fight card, date, start time, streaming, how to watch, venue, and more

The UFC middleweight division will witness another pivotal encounter following the conclusion of UFC 305 when Jared Cannonier and Caio Borralho lock horns in a high-stake clash.

UFC Vegas 96 will be headlined by the Cannonier vs. Borralho clash which goes down on August 24, 2024, at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Former middleweight title challenger Cannonier is coming off his first TKO loss in the 185-pound division against Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Louisville.

'Tha Killa Gorilla' had racked up two impressive wins over Sean Strickland and Marvin Vettori before that loss. Wielding an overall 7-3 mark in the middleweight division, the 40-year-old power hitter will test the mettle of surging contender Borralho, who will take on perhaps the most experienced and dangerous foe he has faced to date.

Borralho has been on a rampant run ever since he graduated from the ranks of Dana White's Contender Series, rattling off six straight wins with two finishes. He is tied for the seventh-longest win streak in the 185-pound division and is currently ranked No.12 in the bubble.

The main card kicks off at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. while the preliminary card is expected to start at 6.30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. The event will be streamed live on ESPN 2 and ESPN+. Fight fans would need to purchase an ESPN+ subscription to watch the event.

Caio Borralho expects a title shot with a win over Jared Cannonier

Surging Brazilian middleweight contender Caio Borralho believes a victory over Jared Cannonier will serve as the perfect launchpad for a potential title shot.

Borralho believes that a decision win over Cannonier will take him into the title contention picture. However, Borralho expects an immediate title shot with an imposing finish against Cannonier. Speaking in an interview with MMA Junkie, he said:

"Just winning is gonna put me in the mix with all these contenders in the top-5. But if I knock out Jared Cannonier or if I finish him on the ground or anything like that, I think it puts me right away to the next contender. My last mantra in the fight with Paul Craig was that I was going to KO Paul Craig, and I did it. And now the mantra to this fight is that I’m gonna show the new champ has arrived… But anything that the UFC wants to give me, I’m a company man you know.”
