UFC Fight Night Paris: Renato Moicano vs. Benoit Saint-Denis: Full card results

Benoit Saint-Denis attempted to insert himself into the top 10 of the lightweight division on Sept. 28 against Renato Moicano at UFC Fight Night Paris. It was his first bout since his loss to Dustin Poirier, which halted his surge into title contention at 155 pounds. The lightweight clash headlined a special Fight Night card at the Accor Arena in Paris, France.

Both Saint-Denis and Moicano entered the bout on the cusp of the top 10 and an impressive win could insert their names in the mix of a stacked 155-pound division. 'Money' entered the event on a three-fight winning streak, while the Frenchman was looking to bounce back from his loss to Poirier, which snapped his five-fight winning streak.

'Money' managed to secure an important takedown in the first round and imposed his will on the ground. He opened up a nasty cut on the Frenchman and spent most of the round turning in a dominant performance with his grappling as well as ground and pound.

In addition to the cut above his right eye, both of Saint Denis' eyes were swollen but he was able to continue the second round, which he arguably won. Despite Saint Denis's toughness, the referee called the cage side doctor into the octagon before the third round to observe his eyes.

After the Frenchman disclosed that he couldn't see, the fight was waved off and Moicano was awarded a TKO via doctor's stoppage. During his post-fight interview, Moicano heaped praise on Saint Denis' toughness and issued a call out to Paddy Pimblett and Dan Hooker.
