UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Ankalaev was another card hosted at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Light heavyweight contenders Thiago Santos and Magomed Ankalaev clashed in the main-event of the night.

Additionally, the event also included an action-packed prelims card. The featured prelims bout saw AJ Fletcher make his octagon debut against surging welterweight prospect Matthew Semelsberger. Fletcher earned his contract with a vicious flying knee knockout win over Leonardo Damiani at DWCS last year.

Women's flyweight prospects JJ Aldrich and Gillian Robertson also clashed at the UFC Vegas 50 prelims. Robertson recorded the most wins in flyweight history after submitting Priscila Cachoeira at UFC 269 in December last year. Meanwhile, Aldrich went into the bout riding a two-fight win streak which included a split decision over Cortney Casey and a unanimous decision over Sabina Mazo prior to that.

AJ Fletcher made his octagon debut against Matthew Semelsberger in the featured prelims bout at UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Ankalaev. After a dominant first-round display from Fletcher, Semelsberger started gaining momentum in the later rounds.

Ultimately, Semelsberger reeled in a closely contested unanimous decision in the absolute barnburner.

Javid Basharat made his UFC debut against Trevin Jones in the UFC Vegas 50 prelims. The Afghan fighter scored a unanimous decision win, going the distance for the first time in his career.

Cody Brundage made his second walk to the octagon against Dalcha Lungiambula after dropping his debut against Nick Maximov last year. Lungiambala came out as the early aggressor, landing some serious ground and pound on Brundage.

Kris Moutinho returned to the octagon against Guido Cannetti after making a short-notice debut against Sean O'Malley last year. The 42-year old Cannetti bounced back from a three-fight skid with a first-round TKO win over Moutinho.
