UFC Fight Tonight: Is there a UFC card on Saturday, January 21, 2022?

The MMA juggernaut is headed to the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for its first pay-per-view event of the year, UFC 283: Teixeira vs. Hill. The action will go down this Saturday, January 21, with two title fights atop the bill and a series of other intriguing matchups.

In the main event, Glover Teixeira will look to become a two-time light heavyweight champion as he takes on the No.7-ranked contender Jamahal Hill in a battle for the vacant 205-pound crown. The Brazilian lost the title to Jiri Prochazka via fifth-round submission in his first title defense at UFC 275 last June after engaging in one of the most entertaining and competitive battles.

A historic fourth meeting between reigning flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and interim titleholder Brandon Moreno will take the co-main event honors at UFC 283. 'The Assassin Baby' fell to Figueiredo in their trilogy bout last January but went on to pick up a third-round TKO win over Kai Kara France six months later to earn the opportunity again.

UFC Fight Tonight: Who else is fighting on UFC 283: Teixeira vs. Hill card?

Gilbert Burns, who fell to undefeated sensation Khamzat Chimaev via unanimous decision in their highly competitive battle last April, will be looking to fight his way back into the win column. Ranked No.5 in the 170 lbs division, 'Durinho' will take on Neil Magny, who currently occupies the No.12 spot in the rankings.

Burns is 1-2 in his last three outings and will be determined to get his hand raised this Saturday. Meanwhile, Magny is fresh off a third-round submission win over Daniel Rodriguez last time out in November and is eyeing his second consecutive victory.

Former women's strawweight champion Jessica Andrade will also feature on the main card as she makes her flyweight return to take on Lauren Murphy. The Brazilian will enter this bout on the back of two straight first-round finishes, with her latest triumph coming over Amanda Lemos via arm-triangle choke submission.

Murphy, meanwhile, is fresh off a unanimous decision win over former champion Miesha Tate and will look to get through another former champ this Saturday on her way to a title shot.

The potential main card opener of the pay-per-view event will pit Johnny Walker against Paul Craig in a light heavyweight contest. The Brazilian has lacked consistency in recent years, going 2-4 in his last six trips to the octagon. However, he is coming off an impressive first-round submission win over Ion Cutelaba in September. Paul Craig, on the other hand, came up short against Volkan Oezdemir last July and will be determined to make his way back into the win column this Saturday.
