UFC honors Anderson Silva with a hair-raising 4-minute video tribute for Hall of Fame induction

Former middleweight champion Anderson Silva is set to be inducted into the UFC's Hall of Fame at International Fight Week in July.

Silva's addition to the HOF, which was a mere eventuality, was announced during the broadcast of UFC 286. A four-minute electrifying video was played to commemorate the legendary career of 'The Spider' who will now join the 'pioneer' wing of the UFC Hall of Fame.

The clip included Silva's career highlights like his front-kick to the face KO win over Vitor Belfort, come-from-behind submission win over Chael Sonnen, and a light-heavyweight win over Forrest Griffin.

Apart from former rivals Griffin and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, active UFC stars like Israel Adesanya, Jamahal Hill, Alex Pereira and Aljamain Sterling also put in words of praise for the legend.

One of the greatest fighters to have ever graced the octagon, Silva reigned supreme atop the UFC middleweight division for half a decade from 2006 to 2012. He mounted a sixteen-fight win-streak during that period, which remains the longest in UFC history. This included ten-title defenses, which again remains an unmatched feat.

Anderson Silva hung up his gloves in 2020 having won only one of his last nine fights and has since shifted his focus to exhibition boxing matches.
