UFC Kansas City 2023, the much-anticipated Fight Night event, has been revealed with Max Holloway vs. Arnold Allen as the main event.
The UFC returns to Kansas City, Missouri after six years, as the fights for the eagerly awaited UFC Kansas City 2023 Fight Night have been officially declared. The event is known for presenting some of the most thrilling battles in the world of mixed martial arts, featuring Max Holloway vs Arnold Allen for the main event.
The organization announced on Wednesday that its upcoming April 15 event, headlined by a featherweight bout between former champion Max Holloway and No. 5-ranked contender Arnold Allen, will take place at the T-Mobile Center.
The ESPN broadcast event features an interesting lineup of fights, including Edson Barboza facing off against Billy Quarantillo in the featherweight division; Azamat Murzakanov taking on Dustin Jacoby in the light heavyweight category; Pedro Munhoz battling Chris Gutierrez in the bantamweight division; and Bill Algeo versus TJ Brown in a featherweight bout.
The preliminary fights include a women's strawweight match between Gillian Robertson and Piera Rodriguez, a heavyweight showdown between Martin Buday and Jake Collier, and a flyweight contest between Brandon Royval and Matheus Nicolau.
Additionally, the card is expected to feature Bruna Brazil against Denise Gomes in a women's strawweight bout, Aaron Phillips versus Gaston Bolanos in the bantamweight division, Lando Vannata taking on Daniel Zellhuber at lightweight, and Joselyne Edwards facing Lucie Pudilova in a women's bantamweight match.
Determining the Destiny: Max Holloway vs Arnold Allen
Max 'Blessed' Holloway hasn't appeared in the UFC cage since July 2022, following his defeat at UFC 276 against Alexander Volkanovski in his attempt to reclaim the featherweight championship. The first two fights between the two were fairly evenly matched, with the second bout being particularly close, however, the third encounter was a stark contrast.
Holloway is scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night 222 in April and is expected to face featherweight standout Arnold Allen. This is a challenging fight for the former featherweight champion and could potentially be a make-or-break moment for him.
