UFC legend explains why Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is a lose-lose for 'The Problem Child': "Bad taste in the world of boxing"
A UFC legend recently weighed in on the upcoming boxing bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson and explained why he believes it is a lose-lose situation for the YouTuber-turned-boxer. There has been plenty of criticism among the boxing community, especially considering the large age difference between the two.
Paul vs. Tyson is scheduled to take place on Nov. 15 and will be streamed live on Netflix. The bout was originally scheduled to take place this past July; however, 'Iron' was forced to withdraw due to health issues. As a result, Netflix postponed the bout and 'The Problem Child' instead fought former UFC welterweight Mike Perry to remain active.
While speaking to VladTV, UFC legend Ken Shamrock sounded off on the upcoming bout between 'The Problem Child' and former heavyweight boxing champion. Shamrock mentioned that there is no positive outcome for Paul because of the public perception and potential backlash should he defeat Tyson when he's not at his best:
"[If Paul] wins, there's a huge huge bad taste in the world of boxing. It's a disappointment to an organization that has loved Mike Tyson. It is like the death of somebody and it should be victorious for Jake Paul and I think on that small group of people that are following, yes. But...in that whole atmosphere of boxing, it's gonna feel like somebody died...If you know there's a chance then Mike isn't Mike." [3:22 - 4:04]

UFC legend Ken Shamrock says he doesn't want to see Jake Paul defeat Mike Tyson
In addition to sharing his thoughts on the public perception of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, UFC legend Ken Shamrock stated that he doesn't want to see the YouTuber-turned-boxer defeat the boxing legend.
During the aforementioned interview, Shamrock mentioned that Tyson has accomplished a great deal during his career and doesn't have anything to gain fighting 'The Problem Child':
"The problem remains is whether or not Mike [Tyson] can last long enough to land a good punch...That's what I don't wanna see. I don't want to see [Paul defeat Tyson]. And it's not cause I don't like Jake Paul, it's because I love Mike Tyson, I do. I think everything he's done for boxing and what he's done in his career, he doesn't need this." [1:21 - 1:51]
