UFC legends unite to label Donald Cerrone's comeback off-limits due to "steroid" history: "Unequivocally should be done"

Donald Cerrone's desired return to fighting has drawn the attention of two UFC legends, former two-division Daniel Cormier and ex-title challenger Chael Sonnen. The pair touched on 'Cowboy's' comeback talks, and both agreed on their stance.

Due to the performance-enhancing drugs Cerrone took following his retirement from MMA, both Cormier and Sonnen opined that Cerrone should be barred from fighting in the UFC again.

Their conversation took place on the latest episode of their Good Guy / Bad Guy show, with Cormier chiming in first.

"One person who unequivocally should be done, 'Cowboy' Cerrone. I don't know what your thoughts on it [are]. I don't know if you believe that he should come back. Dana White doesn't believe that he should come back. Chael, there are a number of reasons why I believe Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone shouldn't come back here now. Let me lay the foundation."

After briefly mentioning his friendship with Cerrone and how highly he thinks of him, 'DC' referenced 'Cowboy's' PED usage:

"He said, 'I'm quitting. I'm getting on steroids and getting my hair done.' He said it, and he looks phenomenal by the way. He looks in great shape. His hair looks great. He is just a man, but then now when you start doing those things [PEDs], Chael, Ben Askren will tell you. He started doing testosterone, he goes, 'I wrestle every day with my best kids. Why wouldn't you want me to be on so I can help them?' You start feeling better. You start feeling like I could do this one more time."

As things currently stand, Cerrone's teased comeback hasn't been made official and he remains retired. However, with the likes of the PFL always being eager to sign ex-UFC fighters, he may have other possible destinations.

Dana White isn't keen on Donald Cerrone's comeback either

UFC CEO Dana White is a fan of Donald Cerrone. However, he isn't a fan of the former fighter's idea of returning to MMA.

'Cowboy' closed the door on his fighting career after a three-year winless streak that saw him go 0-6 (1 no contest) in his last seven fights under the UFC banner.

Naturally, White doesn't want him to return:

"I hate it. Love him, hate that."
