UFC lightweight vet reacts to Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler possibly taking place at 170lbsĀ
UFC lightweight veteran Renato Moicano shared his thoughts on the rumors surrounding a possible Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler fight in the welterweight division. Moicano seemed to suggest that the UFC's love for McGregor and his ability to draw in massive amounts of viewers would allow him to fight in any division he chooses.
McGregor, who is set to appear as one of the head coaches on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, has been out of the octagon since his TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
While officials are yet to disclose the weight class for the Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler fight, Moicano believes McGregor's popularity will enable him to fight in any division.
Appearing in a recent interview with The Schmo, the no. 13-ranked lightweight said:
"You know UFC loves McGregor and he does what he wants, you know, and he brings the eyeballs to UFC," he said. "So UFC kind of treat him like he wants. So, I feel he could fight like 205 and people don't give a sh*t."

It remains to be seen whether the McGregor vs Chandler fight will take place in the welterweight division or another weight class altogether. Regardless, fans are eagerly anticipating McGregor's return to the octagon and are excited to see what the future holds for one of the biggest stars in UFC history.
Michael Chandler predicts upcoming fight against Conor McGregor
In a recent media interview, Michael Chandler responded to Conor McGregor's claims of "slicing through" him in their upcoming UFC fight. The lightweight fighter acknowledged McGregor's star power but stated that he was not intimidated by his opponent's confidence. Instead, he believed that it added to the excitement of the fight.
Chandler confidently predicted that he would "bludgeon" McGregor with both hands, on the ground or standing up. He went on to make a bold prediction, stating that he would finish the fight within the first two rounds.
"I am going to not just slice through, but bludgeon him with both of these hands and do whatever I want, both standing or on the ground and finishing by the second round. That's my Mystic Mac prediction and I stand behind it,"
