He finally rebounded with a win over Song Yadong, and despite his struggles, the oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook still expect him to win, listing him as a -305 favorite. Figueiredo, by contrast, is a +245 underdog.

Round 1: Yan starts off the round with heavy pressure. Figueiredo answers him with a body kick before shooting for a takedown. Yan stuffs the initial shot but finds himself in the clinch, where Figueiredo executes a slick inside trip. He secures top control for some time before a brief scramble ensues.
Figueiredo works on a front choke, but Yan keeps scrambling, forcing him to take his back instead. Figueiredo's choke breaks and Yan is quick to seize the wrist, but Figueiredo manages to lock in a body triangle. However, Yan manages to turn his hips in and turn over, assuming top control of Figueiredo.
Yan seems content to sit in his guard, dropping short elbows. Some short hammer-fists follow his elbows, but Yan isn't posturing up, just maintaining position. He has Figueiredo trapped against the fence, landing some more consequential ground-and-pound.

Round 2: The round starts with more of the same, Yan pressuring, landing a sidekick to Figueiredo's lead knee. He does so again, briefly buckling the Brazilian's stance. He follows up with a heavy outside low kick, and Figueiredo seizes the initiative, pressuring Yan toward the fence.
A brief clinch ensues, with Figueiredo breaking away with a body kick. Yan, however, fires back with his own, prompting Figueiredo to shoot for a takedown, but 'No Mercy' stuffs it. Body kick from Figueiredo, followed by another one. Yan stings his foe with a combination, but Figueiredo returns fire.
He lands a spinning heel kick and right cross. It's a competitive fight and this will be a difficult round to score. For now at least. Yan with a good outside low kick. Figueiredo fires back with a jab. Yan scores with a jab, forcing another failed takedown shot from Figueiredo.
They clash shins, and Figueiredo lands a one-two and uppercut, but Yan intercepts him with an elbow. Front kick to the body for Figueiredo. A swing-and-a-miss from Figueiredo with his right hand. Yan completes a slick step-in outside trip to end the round. 10-9 Yan
Round 3: More pressure from Yan, who blasts Figueiredo with a hard low kick and lightning-quick head kick. Figueiredo lunges in with a hard hook to the body. Round kick to the body from Figueiredo, who pressures Yan back. He gets the Russian reacting to feints and scores a brief takedown.
Yan, though, forces a standup. Figueiredo appears to lose his balance during a brief exchange and Yan is quick to end up on top. He's in the Brazilian's guard right now, but Figueiredo forces a standup. Yan with a low kick and Figueiredo with a counterpunch over the top.
A hard body shot lands for Figueiredo. A clinch sequence ensues, with Yan pinning Figueiredo to the fence. But they break and are back in the open. A big body kick from Figueiredo briefly folds Yan. The Russian fires back with his own body kick, but Figueiredo snipes him with a one-two.
Uppercuts land for Yan as Figueiredo is tiring. More combinations, causing Figueiredo to stumble. Right hook to the body for Yan. A brief pause as Figueiredo's mouthpiece falls off, and the Brazilian fires off combinations and a body kick. 10-9 Yan
Round 4: Figueiredo on the front foot, but Yan lands a low kick and Figueiredo loses his balance, with Yan ending up on top for a split-second before they're back on their feet. Figueiredo is on the backfoot but blasts Yan's body with a hard round kick. He shoots for a takedown but doesn't get it, settling for pinning Yan to the fence.
They stay on the fence, with Yan landing short punches inside. But they're inconsequential. They separate and Figueiredo scores with a nice right cross. Yan with a body kick, which Figueiredo catches and tries to convert to a takedown. Yan, though, defends well, as he has been throughout the fight.
Figueiredo's mouthpiece falls out again. Once the fight resets, they're back to trading. Another takedown shot from Figueiredo is stuffed, and the Brazilian complains about something but the referee urges him to continue fighting. Yan lands with a combination on the counter.

Figueiredo on the front foot with a front kick to the body. The Brazilian defends a takedown from Yan, who resorts to cliching and kneeing Figueiredo's body. Figueiredo breaks off and lands a leaping right hand. Yan overswings, and Figueiredo clinches, but Yan breaks out with a spinning back-elbow.
Figueiredo taunts him, and they clinch before breaking away. Yan lands a nice body kick and combination over the top, but Figueiredo is undeterred, scoring with his own shots. Yan loses his balance and Figueiredo briefly ends up on top. Yan misses with a head kick.
