UFC middleweight pens thoughtful warning for fans on New Year's Eve
UFC middleweight Derek Brunson made sure to create awareness among fans before the turn of the year. With festivities and celebrations underway across the world for the new year, it is easy for fans to get carried away under the influence of alcohol.
Brunson took to Twitter to warn fans about the perils of driving drunk or under the influence. He highlighted the cost of hiring a cab from either Lyft or Uber and encouraged his audience not to risk their lives over an affordable cab fare.
The middleweight tweeted:
"A Uber of Lyft will cost you between $10-$70. Don’t drive drunk. You can kill yourself , someone else or get yourself some serious jail time. SHARE so they can’t say we didn’t warn them. Stay sharp"

Derek Brunson himself had a quiet year fighting only once early in February 2022. The bout against Jared Canonnier resulted in a second-round knockout loss for him. The No.5-ranked middleweight contender will look to make amends in 2023 as he is scheduled to take on Dricus Du Plessis in March at UFC 285.
UFC veteran Luke Rockhold teases return to the octagon in 2023
Former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold announced his retirement from the sport after his last fight against Paulo Costa at UFC 278.
Costa and Rockhold went blow-for-blow in a bloody matchup with momentum shifting on both sides, but it was Costa's youth that fared better to secure the decision victory. An exhausted Rockhold spoke to Joe Rogan after the fight and admitted to not being able to continue. He also implied that he may retire from the sport and has since been inactive.
"Oh it's – I've been through so much last three years. Thank you, fighting. Thank you, UFC. Thank you, Joe. I can't do this s**t anymore. I gave it my all and I just. I'm too f*****g old."
