UFC middleweight predicts Alex Pereira will have a short reign as division champion

Andre Muniz, a top contender in the UFC middleweight division, has shared his opinion on the current UFC middleweight champion, Alex Pereira. According to Muniz, he expects Pereira to have a short reign as champion.

Muniz shared his belief that Pereira won't hold onto his championship title until it's his turn to challenge for the belt. He believes that Pereira will eventually move to a different weight class.

During a recent conversation on the MMA Fighting podcast Trocaço Franca, 'Sergipano' revealed his conviction.

"Fights are fought and it’s hard to say something like that, to speculate. Having potential, having that weapon that brings difficulty or fear to the opponent is one thing, but being able to utilize that is another thing.

He further added:

"I think maybe his biggest difficulty might be making weight because Poatan is a big guy. We see his social media and he’s always around 220 pounds, so it’s hard to make championship weight at 185. Maybe that’s why he won’t have a long reign in this division.”

After winning the UFC middleweight championship in November, Alex Pereira is scheduled to give Israel Adesanya an immediate rematch at UFC 287. Pereira holds a 3-0 record against Adesanya in both MMA and kickboxing matches. The rematch offers Adesanya a chance to avenge his previous losses and potentially reclaim his championship title.
