"I'm just wondering if you're damn high all the damn time" - Henry Cejudo not a fan of Herb Dean's refereeing
Henry Cejudo recently spoke about UFC referees at the Triple C and Schmo Show. He lauded Marc Goddard for his officiating skills inside the octagon. However, the former Olympic champion is not a big fan of Herb Dean.
'Triple C' believes Goddard is currently the best MMA referee out there. He also stated that Herb Dean is too hesitant from time to time. The former two-division UFC champion even stated that he wonders if Dean is high all the time. Here's what Cejudo said:
"Marc Goddard, he's the best ref that I've ever been around, I've ever seen. I remember my fight with him and Marlon Moraes, he stopped it at the right time, he just did everything. Other than big John McCarthy, I'd have to say Marc Goddard is the next best thing."
Watch Cejudo talk about Herb Dean:
He then went on to point out flaws in Herb Dean's officiating. Cejudo believes Dean is unsure about his calls. 'Triple C' added:
"They always put him in these main event fights. There's a hesitation to him. If I'm gonna be honest with him because I've got nothing against Herb Dean, but there's a hesitation to you that when you get in there, you don't know if he's gonna stop it or you do something with your gestures."
Cejudo then said that Dean smokes weed as he does too. However, Dean might be high all the time, according to Cejudo. The former UFC star further added:
"Sometimes they could be early stoppages, sometimes they could be a little too late, I don't know man. I know you smoke weed, so do I, I'm just wondering if you're damn high all the damn time."
Will Henry Cejudo make a return to the UFC?
Henry Cejudo retired after his win against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. However, that hasn't stopped him from taking shots at active UFC fighters. He has been eyeing up a fight against featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski for a while now. Cejudo is keen on becoming a three-division UFC champion.
'Triple C' also issued a call out to Max Holloway. He has also been involved in a Twitter spat with Conor McGregor. Cejudo even challenged McGregor to a fight at lightweight. Here's what Cejudo wrote:
"The same reason why you let people chew that front leg @thenotoriousmma is the same reason why I would stop you. What do you say I make my comeback at 155? @danawhite #therealhistorymaker"
Dana White, on his part, slammed Henry Cejudo for talking about challenging Volkanovski. During the UFC Vegas 46 post-fight press conference, White told Cejudo to win a belt in one of his weight classes before moving up a weight class.
