UFC Paris bonuses and aftermath: Renato Moicano snubbed yet again as four fighters take home $50K, gate revealed, update on fighter's injury
UFC Paris lived up to the hype and proved to be a highly entertaining event for MMA fans around the world. The fight card took place on Sept. 28 at the Accor Arena in Paris, France and was headlined by a lightweight showdown between Benoit Saint Denis and Renato Moicano.
According to @jedigoodman on X, the event garnered $4 million in gate revenue, making it the highest announced gate yet for the promotion's non-Apex fight night events in 2024.
In the co-main event, Brendan Allen went up against Nassourdine Imavov in an attempt to score his 13th win in the UFC. 'All-In' fell short and lost the bout via unanimous decision.
Allen currently has the second-most UFC wins (12) out of all fighters of 'Dana White's Contender Series'.
The fight card opened with a lightweight scrap between Chris Duncan and Bolaji Oki. Duncan made quick work of his opponent and scored a submission victory in the opening round. He was awarded a Performance of the Night (POTN) bonus worth $50,000 for his efforts.
A lightweight matchup between Fares Ziam and Matt Frevola started the main card. Ziam finished Frevola with a brutal knee in the second round of the fight. According to the UFC broadcast, 'The Steamrolla' sustained a left orbital fracture. However, his CT scan returned negative.
Meanwhile, Ziam took home an additional $50,000 for his spectacular knockout.
Both Bryan Battle and Morgan Charriere scored impressive second-round knockout victories against Kevin Jousset and Gabriel Miranda respectively. The two fighters also received POTN bonuses and walked away with an extra $50,000 each.
Moicano emerged as the biggest victor of the night as he stopped Saint Denis by TKO after the second round in the UFC Paris headliner. However, the Brazilian was once again not awarded a bonus for his performance.
