UFC Paris weigh-in results: Ailin Perez visibly shakes on scale as she misses bantamweight mark, main and co-main event official
The much-awaited UFC Paris event boasts a headlining matchup that pits surging lightweight contenders against each other. Meanwhile, the co-headlining fight is a clash of middleweights, with the winner potentially moving closer to a shot at UFC gold. All fighters, except Ailin Perez, made weight for the event at the official weigh-ins.
The UFC Paris (aka UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs. Saint Denis) event is set to transpire at the Accord Arena in Paris, France, on Sept. 28, 2024. Headliners Renato Moicano and Benoit Saint Denis weighed 156 pounds on the scales. While the lightweight limit for title bouts is 155 pounds, the lightweight limit for non-title bouts is 156 pounds.

The co-headlining match is a middleweight bout between the Dagestan-born France-based Nassourdine Imavov and America's Brendan Allen. The middleweight limit for title bouts is 185 pounds and for non-title bouts is 186 pounds. Imavov and Allen both hit the scales at 186 pounds respectively.

Moreover, the lone fighter who missed weight for the event is Ailin Perez (10-2 MMA). The Argentinian has competed at flyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight over the course of her career and had never missed weight. Nevertheless, the 29-year-old was visibly shaking while stepping on the scales at the UFC Paris official weigh-ins.
'Fiona' missed weight and was trembling even after stepping down and walking away from the scales. She weighed in at 136.5 pounds, missing the non-title women's bantamweight bout limit (136 pounds) by half a pound. Perez resultantly forfeits 20 percent of her fight purse, which would go to her opponent Darya Zheleznyakova. Their fight will proceed as a catchweight bout.
Heading into her bantamweight bout against Lucie Pudilova in November 2023, Perez notably missed weight on her first attempt, weighing in at 136.5 pounds. She ultimately did make weight but was later rushed to the hospital due to a medical emergency. Regardless, Perez ended up competing and defeating Pudilova via unanimous decision.
Incidentally, Perez was a vocal critic of Tracy Cortez when the latter had to cut her hair to make weight for her main event women's flyweight bout against Rose Namajunas back in July 2024.
