UFC Vegas 92: Edson Barboza vs. Lerone Murphy: Full Results

UFC Vegas 92 is in the books. The event took place on May 18 at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite the apparent lack of star power, it witnessed several great performances. So, let's recap the fight and explore the full event results.

In the main event, veteran fighter and No.12-ranked featherweight contender Edson Barboza fought rising contender Lerone Murphy. Regarded as one of the most decorated strikers in UFC history, Barboza entered the fight with bonus-winning victories against Billy Quarantillo and Sodiq Yusuff. Meanwhile, UK's Murphy put his undefeated record on the line in an attempt to score the biggest win of his career so far.

The difference in approach became apparent in Round 1 as Barboza primarily attacked the legs while Murphy targeted the head for the most part.

Barboza rocked Murphy badly with an upkick in closing seconds of Round 1 but seemed to be struggling with his opponent's relentless pressure as the fight progressed. The Brit's punches found the mark with increasing accuracy and also opened takedown opportunities.

The mixed attack forced Barboza to fight defensively, never giving him the space to implement the kick-heavy fighting style. The number of strikes on Murphy's end kept piling up but the Brazilian fighter showed toughness and durability, making it to the final bell despite getting bloodied and busted.

Judges scored the lopsided bout in Murphy's favor, declaring him the winner by unanimous decision.

In the co-headlining bout, Kalinn 'Khaos' Williams took on highly touted Carlston Harris in a three-round fight. Heading into the fight, Harris was riding a two-fight win streak while Williams was coming off a closely contested split-decision win over Rolando Bedoya.

The fight wrapped up relatively quickly as a thunderous right hand from Williams knocked Harris down in Round 1 and the referee stepped in to stop the action after a follow-up shot.

Zimbabwe's Thimba Gorimbo continued his winning ways and walked away with a unanimous decision victory over Ramiz Brahimaj to extend his win streak to three.

Meanwhile, bantamweight contender Adrian Yanez got back in the win column with a first-round knockout win over Vinicius Salvador. Yanez suffered back-to-back losses against Rob Font and Jonathan Martinez after starting his UFC career with an impressive six-fight win streak.

In the fight, Yanez knocked Salvador down with a right hook after getting hit with an inside leg kick and landed vicious ground-and-pound strikes to ensure the victory.

The main card opening bout saw Angela Hill defeat Luana Pinheiro via submission to get her second straight victory since suffering a unanimous decision loss against Mackenzie Dern in May 2023. This was the first submission win of Hill's 30-fight professional MMA career.

UFC Vegas 92 Results: Tom Nolan, Oumar Sy and Abus Magomedov pull off impressive victories

In the preliminary card headlining bout, Tom Nolan weathered an early storm to knock Victor Rodriguez out in Round 1. After the initial feeling out process, Rodriguez knocked Nolan down with a right hand and entered the full guard. Nolan offered good resistance on the ground and managed to get back to the feet.

An intercepting knee dropped Martinez as he tried to get a hold of Nolan's leg and the referee stopped the action after a few follow-up strikes from Nolan.

French prospect Oumar Sy earned a submission win over Tuco Tokkos to announce his arrival to the UFC, extending his undefeated professional MMA record to 10-0.

Also, rising middleweight contender Abus Magomedov got back in the win column with a dominant victory over Warlley Alves. After making his UFC debut with an impressive knockout win, Magomedov suffered back-to-back losses against Caio Borralho and Sean Strickland.

At UFC Vegas 92, Magomedov dominated the majority of the fight, hurting Alves with multiple devastating strikes and effective ground game en route to a unanimous decision victory.

In a strange occurrence on the preliminary card, Ariane Carnelossi defeated Pierra Rodriguez via disqualification in a fight that appeared to be slipping out of her hand.

Rodriguez, who was leading on the judges' scorecards, put Carnelossi on wobbly legs after catching her with a front kick to the face. A few follow-up strikes sent Carnelossi down and Rodriguez followed her to the ground with a headbutt.

Another intentional headbutt after a few strikes prompted the referee to stop the action. The ringside doctors concluded that Carnelossi was unable to continue and suggested the referee to wave off the fight.

Elsewhere, Malissa Gato defeated Tamires Vidal by TKO in Round 3. Meanwhile, Alatang Heili and Vanessa Demopoulos emerged victoriously against Kleydeson Rodrigues and Emily Ducote, respectively.
