UFC Vegas 94 bonuses and aftermath: Virna Jandiroba and three others bag $50K, suspected orbital injury, 65-second KO, and more
UFC Vegas 94 was full of exciting moments through the night. The event took place on July 20 at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada.
A strawweight showdown between Virna Jandiroba and Amanda Lemos headlined the fight card. The fight was a grappling-heavy affair where both fighters tried to submit each other.
In the second round, 'Carcara' finished her opponent with an armbar. The victory extended Jandiroba's winning streak to four, making it the third longest active winning streak in the UFC's 115-pound division.
The Brazilian also received a $50,000 bonus for her efforts.
In the co-main event, Steve Garcia locked horns against Seung-Woo Choi in a featherweight clash. Garcia made light work of his opponent and finished him via knockout at 1:36 of the first round. 'Mean Machine' has now won four fights in a row, all via knockout.
Garcia was also named among the winners of the Performance of the Night bonus and took home an additional sum of $50,000.
Bruno Silva and Cody Durden went toe-to-toe in a flyweight scrap on the main card of UFC Vegas 94. In the second round, the Brazilian scored an impressive knockout victory. He also received a $50,000 bonus.
One impressive thing to note is that this was Silva's fourth UFC Performance of the Night bonus in a row.
Hyder Amil ran through JeongYeong Lee in the main card opener and finished him in just 65 seconds. He was among the recipients of the $50,000 bonus.
After a year-long hiatus, Dooho Choi returned to action against Bill Algeo. 'The Korean Superboy' went on to score a finish in the second round.
The fight marked Choi's first UFC victory since July 2016. Reports suggest that Algeo might have suffered an orbital bone injury in the fight.
