UFC Vegas 97: How much are Gilbert Burns and Sean Brady? Estimated payouts reported
The UFC Vegas 97 payouts for Gilbert Burns and Sean Brady are one of several topics looming over next weekend's card. The two men meet in a welterweight clash with strong career implications for both of them. Burns is looking to rebound from a two-fight losing streak, while Brady hopes to build a two-fight win streak.
But just how much will the two 170-pound standouts earn for the bout? As has often been the case with UFC fights as of late, there are no longer any disclosed figures for fighter payouts. However, what either man could earn may be possible to derive from their disclosed past earnings.
According to NY Fights, 'Durinho' pocketed a guaranteed $200,000 from his loss to future UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. Moreover, the same outlet reports that the Brazilian earns between $150,000 and $250,000. MMA Salaries reports similar figures for 'Durinho's' recent loss to Jack Della Maddalena.
The once-unbeaten Brady, by contrast, is said to earn far less. NY Fights reported an estimated $80,000 purse for the American's Dec. 2, 2023, win over Kelvin Gastelum, which is his most recent fight. Additionally, The Sports Rush reported an estimated $50,000 payout for his UFC 280 loss to Muhammad.
Based on the aforementioned figures, Burns is likely to pocket a sum between $150,000 and $250,000, while Brady will earn somewhere between $50,000 and $80,000, with a possible career high of $100,000 given that UFC Vegas 97 will be his first-ever main event, and against a high-profile foe.
UFC Vegas 97 features multiple Brazilian fighters, not just Gilbert Burns
While Gilbert Burns serves as the UFC Vegas 97 headliner, he is one of a large number of Brazilians booked to compete on the card. In the co-main event, former UFC strawweight champion and current women's flyweight contender Jéssica Andrade faces fellow Brazilian 125-pounder Natália Silva.
In the prelims, thrilling Brazilian prospect Felipe dos Santos takes on his own countryman, André Lima, in a flyweight bout. They are preceded by another Brazilian in Gabriel Santos, who fights China's Yi Zha, and below them, Brazilian strawweight Jaqueline Amorim faces Vanessa Demopoulos.
