UFC vet on four-fight win streak expresses interest in fighting Justin Gaethje, predicts he would knock out the former 'BMF' titleholder
A UFC veteran recently opened up about a potential lightweight clash against Justin Gaethje and shared his thoughts on what he believes would transpire. The lightweight competitor has been riding a great deal of momentum, and so a bout against the former interim lightweight champion could be realistic.
No.11-ranked lightweight Renato Moicano has made his title aspirations known and wants an opportunity against a top contender. He most recently competed at UFC Paris, where he earned an impressive TKO win via doctor's stoppage over Benoit Saint Denis. The Brazilian showcased his improvements and turned in a dominant performance as he controlled the Frenchman on the ground and bloodied him with strikes.
While speaking to MMA Fighting's Damon Martin, the 35-year-old expressed interest in competing against lightweights ranked higher than him as it would get him closer to a title shot.
Moicano mentioned that he wouldn't be opposed to waiting for an extended period to fight Gaethje and predicted that he would knock the former 'BMF' titleholder out:
"I can wait to fight Justin Gaethje in March, 100 percent. I see no problems. And especially him coming off a knockout. I think I am a good fight to test him again, especially because he is a wrestler, he can defend takedowns and I think that would be an awesome fight...He could be the baddest guy on the planet, the 'BMF'...I don't care, I'm not losing. If they send me the contract, I will knock him the f**k out. I'm telling you." [14:38 - 15:56]
