UFC veteran hints at Israel orchestrating Donald Trump's assassination attempt, blaming Iran: "What is one more war for Israel?"
A UFC veteran has claimed that Israel might be involved in the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump last week.
Trump held a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, to further his bid for a second term as US president. The atmosphere swiftly changed after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to kill the politician by firing multiple shots with an AR-15.
Trump's ear bled after being wounded by the bullet, but he survived without severe injury. In a historic snapshot, the former US President screamed "fight" while raising his fist.
However, the former UFC fighter mentioned above, Jake Shields reportedly claimed that Israel was the brains behind it, despite the United States getting intelligence about an Iranian conspiracy to assassinate Trump. Shields recently took to X and wrote:
''Israel has been begging the United States to go to war with Iran. Trump appoints an Israeli first VP, and now they want us to believe that Iran tried to kill Trump. They already tricked us into war with Iraq, Syria, and Libya, so what is one more war for Israel?''
The Secret Service increased protection surrounding Trump after receiving information from a human source in recent weeks about an Iranian conspiracy to assassinate him, according to several people briefed on the subject who spoke with CNN. However, there's no proof that Crooks, the guy who tried to assassinate the former US President on Saturday, had anything to do with this plot.
Trump's entourage declined to comment regarding whether they were aware of the Iran threat, saying:
''We do not comment on President Trump's security detail. All questions should be directed to The United States Secret Service.'' [H/t: CNN]
Jake Shields responds to police ignoring Donald Trump shooting alert before assassination attempt
Following the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, a video has gone viral with a guy claiming to have alerted the Secret Service and local police to the gunman minutes before the attack, only to have them dismiss him. The video has provoked anger, hoaxes, and responses from many people, including former UFC fighter Jake Shields.
Shields has gained notoriety for his political views while frequently criticizing famous personalities on social media. One day after the attempt, on July 14, the 45-year-old maintained his status quo by criticizing government authorities by using the viral interview clip. He took to X and wrote:
''This guy very clearly watched it all happen and told the police there is a man with a rifle on the roof and was ignored''
